The purpose of the competition was to find a proposal that would best solve the requirements of the city of Bratislava with the intention of restoring the original recreational function of the defunct Grössling baths. In accordance with the current trend to combine the various functions of public buildings and bring their users new uses for spending free time. With the use of the building not only the spa part, but also separate parts from the spa for cultural and community activities with the relocation part of the office's of the City Library in Bratislava. The main concept of linking these two functions is "immersion‟. It represents, on the one hand, immersing yourself in the spa atmosphere, a place of relaxation and peace, on the other hand, immersing yourself in books, in the tranquility of the library space. These two separate areas are to be connected by a cafe, which will be the most public part of the entire complex, along with the park on Medena Street.

The proposed location is in the Ružinov district of Bratislava. The northern edge of the plot is adjacent to the intersection of the four-lane road Rožňavská and Galvaniho Street. It is bounded by Terchovská Street in the west and Banšelova Street in the southeast. At the corner of mentioned streets, there is a free space (planned plot). The area of the treated area is 5365 m2. The location is burdened by noise from traffic and industry, which had to be considered when designing the building, as well as considering its location and layout itself.
